THE SPOOKY SEASON
A colorful fall celebration marked the return of the Red Letter Day Box, and for October, we removed color and kept things dark and spooky. I hope you are still enjoying the beautiful fall colors and are just as excited as I am to start the spooky season on October first!

I hope you love the spooky season as much as I do. In your box, I listed some of the fun spooky season activities that October brings. I plan on visiting a pumpkin patch and taking lots of walks in the changing fall leaves!
This month, we reintroduced the banner—a black design with a spooky skeleton head for a scary touch. Banners are a fun, quick project and a design challenge. I aimed for an all-black look but added an orange ribbon at the last minute, as it's my favorite!

Your SPOOKY SEASON banner can add a little Halloween whimsy to your home in just about any room. Here, we hung it on a little coat hook near the back door. Add a little pumpkin nearby, and easy peasy, you have a spooky addition to your comings and goings. There are lots of options this week for you. I hope you see something you love.
I've made a bit of an effort here to provide several options for displaying your SPOOKY SEASON banner—all similar, but mostly very spooky! Starting from the left, a sweet display in the kitchen adds fun to your morning routines and keeps everybody excited for the big day.
My daughter-in-law has already started the SPOOKY SEASON decorations, with a pair of very spooky skeletons hanging in the front windows. We had so much fun photographing these pictures and getting the skeleton to sit straight and behave like a gentleman. Here, we show how fun it is to incorporate your banner with all your other Halloween decorations. Lastly, we hung the banner on the gate going into the backyard—a darling entry for a backyard Halloween party or just to welcome friends visiting this season.
So many great options for you to display this month's box! I would love to see what you do with it and how you incorporate it into your home. I threw in some buttons for you to add to the banner or onto your kids' trick-or-treat bags. They have been around for a couple of years, but I love the colors and the darling designs my cute daughter came up with for a Halloween box a few years ago.

Some ribbon tips: let them hang long behind your SPOOKY SEASON banner with a droopy bow above, or you can bring them up and over the wood dowel. Each way looks great and really makes for an eerily enjoyable addition to your Halloween decor. Use the star garland to hang your banner from, as I have done in the pictures. Or, drape it across, or hang it long with your ribbons. I'm loving the black stars!
That's it for now. I hope you enjoy this month's box! We are heading very fast into SPOOKY SEASON, and this month's box has you ready. Have fun and be safe out there with your trick-or-treaters. Enjoy some pumpkin spice, crunchy leaves, and all the other fun fall smells, tastes, and activities. We'll see you in a couple of weeks with the next box, celebrating all the good things we are grateful for. Enjoy!
